Tanzila Narbayeva and Valentina Matviyenko visit the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan

On October 1, 2019, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko together with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva visited the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan.

High-ranking guest was briefly informed about the history and creative activity of the theatre.

Tanzila Narbayeva and Valentina Matviyenko congratulated the theatre staff on the opening of the 85th anniversary season.

Valentina Matviyenko recalled the cultural figures who founded the theatre in the early 30s of the last century, emphasized the work of the team members who worked in the theatre over the past years, and the current artists.

The theatre’s creative group presented one of the successful performances from its Bankrupt repertoire.

This drama, which is one of the first major works of the famous Russian writer Alexander Ostrovsky, was later renamed as “Our People – Let’s Count”.

T. Narbayeva and V. Matviyenko noted that the performance left a vivid impression and wished the theatre team success in the new season.
