As part of his working visit to Bishkek, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation.

The leaders discussed further expanding and strengthening the Uzbek-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.

They expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of trade and economic cooperation. Since the beginning of this year, bilateral trade has increased by 12 percent.

Major projects continue to be implemented in industry, energy, metallurgy, transport, and other priority sectors of the economy.

The sides emphasized the importance of maintaining the positive momentum in mutual trade, accelerating the implementation of industrial cooperation projects, and continuing active interregional contacts.

Special attention was given to further expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.

The leaders also discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
